An appearance by presidential hopeful Donald J. Trump at a town hall filled with Latino voters has drawn criticism for this controversial wardrobe, sources have confirmed.
“I don’t want to be one of those guys, but did you see him up there?” asked Jose Alonso, one of many in attendance. “The fake mustache, the sombrero, the boots with spurs on them, it was all a bit much. Especially the way he spent half of his speech talking about how he just wants a nice margarita and taco bowl. It was borderline insulting. I did like the ‘Make America Bueno Again’ hat, though. I bought one of those.”
Many defended Trump by citing the double standards politicians are held to.
“Oh that’s just ridiculous,” said Barry Suggs, a local Trump supporter. “Pelosi and Schumer can dress up like Africans and do a moment of silence and they’re treated as heroes, but Trump regales himself in full Mexican memorabilia and suddenly he’s being insensitive. I’m sick of the hypocrisy! Let’s be real, he looked cool as hell up there.”
As of press time, Trump stopped taking questions and awkwardly danced to mariachi music for the final 40 minutes of the event.
