In a stunning mix-up, ICE agents temporarily detained NBA star Jimmy Butler outside the Kaseya Arena, mistaking him for a wanted Haitian illegal immigrant, sources have confirmed.
The incident unfolded as Butler was leaving a post-game press conference, only to be approached by agents who confused him with a suspect reportedly “tall, athletic, and on the run.”
During the confusion, a visibly frustrated Butler shouted, “F**k Pat Riley, I’m never coming back to Miami,” fueling rumors of a rift with the Heat’s executive and perhaps a deeper dissatisfaction with team management. Witnesses say the agents, realizing their mistake, apologized profusely while fans nearby scrambled to record the altercation, instantly turning it viral.
The mix-up has sparked a flurry of memes, social media support for Butler, and criticism of ICE’s identification protocols. “Maybe we should add a basketball skills test to our detainment procedures,” joked one embarrassed agent later.
As of press time, Pat Riley was reportedly sending Butler a peace offering basket filled with Miami Heat merchandise, season tickets, and a map highlighting the differences between Miami and Haiti.
Most people would have graciously accepted the apologies given. Rather than throw a narcissistic hissy fit.
It would not have happened if the boarders were not open and all the illegal immigrants flooding in. He should be cursing the Biden administration and accept the apology from the agents trying to do their job. That’s the problem with the attitude of some of these athletes who think they are entitled to be treated like they are someone special. He should be removed from the sport and fined for his actions.
When a Police Officer makes a small mistake, the left goes bonkers.
When the left really F()k it up. The powers to be in the left, just let them.
Also, he looks identical to the Haitian Criminal!!
I would gladly submit to a dozen mistaken identities who can explain themselves than to let one illegal criminal immigrant into the country. These primadonnas have to get over themselves, they are “only” overpaid game players.
I can understand the discomfort of being misidentified, but it could happen to anyone. It’s not like there’s a special “identification waiver” exclusively for basketball players. If the previous administration didn’t encourage foreign governments to send us their troublemakers it wouldn’t be an issue.
