Some unannounced seasonal construction is set to turn routine drives into hellacious nightmares all over the country, sources have confirmed.
“God damn it, why didn’t I leave earlier,” screamed local driver Marshall Walton, stuck in gridlock traffic several blocks from his house after taking a construction-related detour. “I was just running to the store to grab a couple of things and now I’ve missed two days of work and my kid’s first baseball game. Why does every single construction project have to start at once?”
Despite the frustrations of traffic goers, city officials defended the usual practice of large amounts of construction during the summer months.
“Summer is the best time for construction, unfortunately,” said city planner Ray Holbrook. “And not because of the weather either you see. We just secretly take pleasure in knowing that summer’s the time that we will mess up the most plans that people have made. We’re a sick, petty bunch in the construction industry, and you better believe we sleep damn well at night knowing we’re ruining any chance people have of getting anywhere on time in the summer.”
As of press time, a new construction crew was seen preparing to start several loud projects directly outside your bedroom window.

Another opportunity to be grateful to live in the free State of Florida where road work not only does not stop in the winter, but actually picks up since it is cooler. That is part of why Florida has such a fabulous road system. We get a week in advance notice of road closures and clear alternate routes provided. It is great in a Republican State!!!
Well not sure Florida has the best roads. Most roads in Florida are paved over cow paths. Narrow without shoulders. Probably the reason there are more lawyers in FL and they have such high insurance rates. I’ve seen construction projects that have lasted for years in FL, where in Minnesota they would have been done in months. But I guess you get what you pay for.
I see miles of construction signs and detours but hardly see many people actually working. Either it is my poor eyesight or they are closing a lot more streets than they are actually working on. On top of that our city rents those construction signs and that cost must be sky high. What else can you expect as there isn’t much the government doesn’t make a mess out of due to their actions. Remember where there was a big hole in the freeway on one lane but instead of simply patching it they put out warning signs there was a hole in the freeway and stayed there for a month.
This is the grand-prize winner! There ought to be construction police shooting these bastards down in the streets. They are only in it for the money. To hell with the victims of these manufactured nightmares.
Reason number 876 “climate change “ is fake. If it was real, and an “existential threat”, all construction that could safely be done at night would be.but no, it’s all crap
