In a move that has redefined political gatherings, the Senate hosted a rollicking Saturday bash to confirm Kristi Noem as Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security, sources have confirmed.
Breaking away from the staid tradition of weekday hearings, senators from both sides of the aisle declared their enthusiasm for weekend work, especially when it involves frosty beverages and crucial votes.
“Who says you can’t mix a little fun with federal responsibilities?” chuckled one senior senator, clinking a beer bottle against his colleague’s in a toast to bipartisanship and good times. The event, held in the normally somber Senate chamber, featured live music, a barbecue station, and an open bar, turning the confirmation into a festive affair.
Democrats and Republicans alike praised the initiative, noting that the convivial atmosphere led to smoother negotiations and friendlier exchanges. “It turns out a little beer can go a long way in bridging political divides,” a Democratic senator noted, while reaching for another chilled brew.
As of press time, the Senate was considering making “Senate Bash Saturdays” a regular fixture, with committees drafting legislation to fund a permanent keg installation in the Capitol.
CHEERS !!!!🍻
There is no aisle
It’s an isle and they’re all on it together
Taking turns feeding each other our grapes
The barbecue was pork of course
Keep in mind that Act actually means TAX
Weekends too….
Gonzo Bat: Just curious: Could this “Isle” be the original 10 square miles allocated to our nation’s capital, or is it the current 68.34 square miles of insanity that Washington DD has over-reached?
I don’t mean to be a party-pooper, but is this part of the same Senate that voted against Pete Hegseth because of allegations of his drinking? If so, that’s very hypocritical. BTW, congratulations to Kristi Noem’s confirmation! Also, congratulations to Pete Hegseth’s confirmation! Both very well deserved. I’m not against the drinking if it doesn’t impair their decision making but I am against the hypocrisy re: this being one of the reasons why many voted against Pete.
I voted Trump Vance. I have been doing a lot of research on what is going on in our country and especially CA. I have volunteered with a lot of local community government programs.
