In a stunning turn of events that could permanently disrupt Americans’ circadian rhythms, Congress has reportedly taken a literal hammer to the proverbial alarm clock, sources have confirmed.
In a symbolic gesture against daylight savings time, lawmakers unanimously agreed that if they couldn’t manage the nation’s time zones, they’d at least smash them to pieces.
The decision came after a marathon session in which senators and representatives debated the merits and demerits of springing forward and falling back, with many confessing they couldn’t remember whether they were supposed to gain an hour of sleep or lose it. “It’s time to stop changing our clocks and start changing our tactics,” shouted one lawmaker from the House floor, wielding a hammer.
The move has been met with mixed reactions from the public and timekeeping enthusiasts who argue that the destruction of timepieces is not a scientifically sound method for eliminating seasonal time changes. Meanwhile, tech companies have scrambled to update digital clocks to a new, congressionally approved “timeless” setting, which simply displays a shrugging emoji.
As of press time, members of Congress were seen consulting sundials, apparently preparing to introduce legislation to bring back “solar standard time.”
THANK GOODNESS, I almost thought Congress might not prioritize themselves. Who wouldn’t agree setting clocks depending on which state we might be in, time of year, which latitude (but not longitude), sidereal or solar time, is much, much, more important than citizen’s safety, economy, happiness, invasions, or threats.

people i know and have know do not care for time change it is stupid to have to reset clocks yearly when schools and whoever need daylight to start the day just change your work hours the majority of people do not need it
If there really is a worry as to what the “daylight” would be between the “work hours” of 9 to 5 during summer vs winter, why not adjust the “work day” to 8:30am to 4:30pm Standard Time – instead of playing with a whole hour twice a year, keep it steady at a half hour in real time.
It’s sorta like don’t raise the bridge, lower the river
— Also dairy cows would appreciate a steady time for their milking schedules, when they have to wait an hour longer to get milked, their udders are bursting with pain.
It served its purpose. Get rid of it!
Have the time at ONE time no changing every year
Knowing this simple thing about time zones and being able to speak and read english . Is why no illegals should be given a Drivers license without intense study Of the rules and laws . Of which we all must abide by . But sadly they are not made to abide by the rules we must obey . Point : A DL should not be an ID to vote. As they give them theirs. Go sit in a place to get license Watch . Shocker !
Here in lies the reason that illegals who are given the CDL license to drive are causing the deaths and wrecks on our highways. Not knowing the CDL federal rules. Which in my state is a 4 inch thick giant book of rules that change before the ink is dry ., If a driver learned all of the rules of each state That truck would not move
Those that drive Trucks across this country can surly tell you about times zones . The horrors of keeping up log books that Each states DOT checks and has thousands of State and Federal rules. DOT officers who are not trained in the fact that the driver must log on the time zone of which they are from Not the one they are in. Is a major problem .
I know because I owned and operated for over 50 yrs my own trucking business. Between myself and my husband We had over 100 yrs of experience He got his public service license at 16 yrs old . That was the first license to be given to drive a truck
If any of you had to endure this every day of your life to make a living . Well ! It would be a giant uproar to set one time for all

Simple fix–incororate gmt greenwich mean time or zulu time. works well in the MILITARY.

Personally i and everyone I know like the extra daylight in the evening .Because there is time to do some things after work and now always on the weekends off . Work all week and then have to work on weekends around the house ,Do we ever get a break to rest and enjoy life
